Your dream destination wedding - beating the credit crunch!

Hi,

So…you started your wedding planning then decided to put the brakes on and re assess your plans due to the global financial situation. It is always the best idea to search for the best deal anyway and make sure you know exactly what you are getting for your money and that it is your dream wedding whatever the budget constraints.

We have created some great options for you to consider for your wedding in St. Lucia.
http://www.awesomecaribbeanweddings.com/specials.htm

Our newest offer is a great villa that has just come up for rental which is right on the shore of the Caribbean Sea – there aren’t many private villas in St. Lucia that can boast that.
http://www.awesomecaribbeanweddings.com/specials.htm#paradise

It can accommodate 12 adults (and up to 8 extra children) and is perfect for your Caribbean wedding and reception. Imagine getting married over looking the Caribbean Sea, dining on sumptuous Caribbean fare on the covered verandah of your villa and dancing the night away under the stars on the lawn.

I have priced this option for a 4 night and 7 night stay in this villa and wedding ceremony to give you an idea of cost. Just let me know if you would like a quote for a different number of nights or amounts of guests.

The wedding programmes include everything you need for a great wedding. We also have loads more option for you to choose from for ceremony area decoration, cakes, menus, live music….

You do not have to spend a fortune for a fabulous location, wedding and the best wedding planners :)

We will work with you and your budget to create your unique wedding at this location or any of our other stunning sites throughout St. Lucia.

Have a great holiday season and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

The Photo Gallery

Hi,

Well I have a bit more time to catch up on those things I have been putting on the back burner over the high season. I am going to be working on our gallery and swapping out lots of photos so you have new weddings to look at. I know a lot of our potential, existing and past couples like to return to the gallery so now you will have even more reason to.

I have added another location already which is the Luxury Landings resort in St. Lucia. We are their wedding planners so if you would like to hold your wedding at a resort and still want the personal service and unique wedding now you can!

Don’t forget there are 2 pages of locations in the gallery so click ‘last’ to get to the second page.

I better get back to selecting those photos now…I am trying to not select so many from each wedding but its just too difficult there are so many great photos :D

Customizing your ceremony

Its been a very busy three months! Not even time to blog!
We have had lots of fun…thats why we love what we do; every wedding is different and Steve and Julie’s ceremony certainly was that!

This just shows how much you can customize your ceremony to say just what you want and have your personalities shine through…a certain Dr. would rather like this I think…

Wedding ceremony of Julie and Steve.

Welcoming words by the Officiate:

Officiate to guests:
Witness this day
A week before May,
Two thousand and eight,
They choose to mate.

Guests:
We will!

Officiate to Steve & Julie:
We gather together by the sea
To marry you two, finally!
You’ve searched far and wide,
To find the one by your side,
Now together you’ll be,
Day in and day out, eternity!

With highs and lows,
Laughs and blows,
You’ll travel the earth
In joy and mirth,
Exploring your love,
As free as a dove.

There’ll be cloudy days,
With rain and haze,
Lightning and thunder.
Words you’ll blunder.
Actions will fail,
No wind in your sail,
‘Til the clouds blow away,
Still loving every day.
Standing together,
Sweet-babe-ease,
Merging forever,
With two seas.
Atlantic and Caribbean,
Becoming one,
Steele and Seel in
The Saint Lucian sun.

As unique as a seashell,
Deep as the sea,
As truly a love
Was meant to be.
Mates and friends in
The garden of life,
Now to become
Husband and wife.

So, if anyone objects,
Please keep it inside.
They’ve nothing to protect,
Nothing to hide.
With rhyme and time,
Without further ado,
But with Doctor Seuss,
Let’s marry these two.

VOWS
Officiate:
Will both of you answer me right now
These questions as your wedding vows?

Both:
Yes, we will answer you right now
Your questions as our wedding vows.

Officiate to Steve:
Will you take Julie as your wife?
Will you love her all your life?
Will you have and will you hold
Years from now, a thousandfold?
Will you love her through good and bad,
When you’re happy or when you’re sad?
Will you love her if she has a tic,
Or when she’s hurt, or when she’s sick?
Will you love her if you’re filthy rich,
Or if you happen to live in a ditch?
Will you love her if she falls from a plane,
Even if you think she’s insane?
Yes, if you’ll love her through and through,
Please answer with these words:

Officiate and Steve together:
I DO!

Officiate to Julie:
Will you take Sweetbaby Steve,
As your husband, and never leave?
Will you make this solemn bond
To love him ‘til death and beyond?
Will you have, and will you hold,
From now ‘til the stars grow cold,
Will you love him with all your heart,
Even at night when he farts?
Will you love him when he’s sickly?
(Oh, can’t we get this over quickly!) [said with annoyance to guests]
If you’ll love him through and through,
Please answer with these words:

Officiate and Julie together:
I DO!

RING CEREMONY

Officiate:
We need to continue with a few more things.
Let’s proceed, may I have the rings?
(Takes rings)

Officiate to Steve:
Steve, place this ring on that finger there,
And repeat after me, if you dare.
To you my dear, I give this ring.
It is special, not just ‘Bling, Bling, Bling.’
Wear it proud, as you have vowed,
For you are mine, ‘til the end of time.

Steve (takes ring):
To you my dear, I give this ring.
It is special, not just ‘Bling, Bling, Bling.’
Wear it proud, as you have vowed,
For you are mine, ‘til the end of time.

(Steve puts ring on Julie’s finger.)

Officiate to Julie:
Julie, place this ring on that finger there
And repeat after me, if you dare.
To you, my love, I give this ring.
Tungsten Carbide is your ‘Bling.’
Wear it proud, my ‘sweet-babe-ee’,
For you are mine, all of eternity.

Julie (takes ring):
To you, my love, I give this ring.
Tungsten Carbide is your ‘Bling.’
Wear it proud, my ‘sweet-babe-ee’,
For you are mine, all of eternity.

(Julie puts ring on Steve’s finger.)

SAND CEREMONY

Officiate:
You’ve vowed your love and given rings.
(Very nice I might add, your ‘Bling! Bling! Bling!)
And now its time for a special thing.

I ask you both to scoop some sand
Using a shovel, or your hand,
Or these vases, they will do,
St. Lucian sand, chosen for you,
To join yourselves together as one,
Here beneath the St. Lucian sun,
To intertwine heart and soul,
Taking two halves, making a whole.
Once you’ve done what I ask,
I’ll state the purpose of this task.

(Julie & Steve pour sand)

Separation of these grains of sand
Cannot be done by any hand.
From this moment on, you both will be
As inseparable as this sand you see.
One more thing before the conch does blow
I really want you both to know:
I wish you a life full of sunshine,
Laughter, preferably with wine,
Hearts full of cheer, good German beer,
And a love that grows deeper year after year.

SIGNING THE REGISTER WHILE STILL AT THE TABLE

I, by the authority vested in me,
By God, whose command it surely must be,
Now declare you husband and wife,
Day in and day out, the rest of your life
You’re married now, so kiss the bride,
But please, Steve & Julie, keep it dignified.

(Steve & Julie kiss, as the conch blows)
Now that their kiss has sealed the deal,
May I present Mr. & Mrs. Seel!

What type of hotel?

So you have decided to have your perfect destination wedding in St. Lucia.

We can help with your accommodation plans for you and your guests. Check out our accommodation recommendations and see the special discounted rates that we can offer you and your guests at http://www.awesomecaribbeanweddings.com/accommodation.htm

The first decision is what type of hotel and meal plan (if any) you would prefer. Here are some useful points to consider between all-inclusive and traditional hotels.

One is an all-inclusive resort, where accommodations, meals, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages and activities are rolled into a single rate that is paid upfront. The other option is a traditional hotel, where you pay only the room rate and taxes. Below, I’ll tell you about some of the advantages and disadvantages of both and provide links to lists of resorts in each category.

Traditional Hotels

At a traditional hotel, your vacation can be more flexible and customized. Since the upfront cost only covers lodging, you’ll never pay extra for something you don’t use. You’ll also have more dining and entertainment options, since you’re not obligated to use the on-site restaurants and facilities.

Traditional hotels and resorts are good options for people who want to explore the destination and local culture and sample other restaurants nearby. They’re a little harder to budget because you can’t always anticipate what you might end up spending on meals and activities during your trip.

All-inclusive

One benefit of choosing an all-inclusive resort is that you can budget for your trip ahead of time – there’s no extra expense for on-site meals, drinks or entertainment. It’s a good option for people who consider the resort itself to be their destination and want to simplify meal planning. All-inclusive are also great for families because they offer plenty of planned activities to keep kids (and adults) entertained. Since gratuities are included, guests don’t have to worry about keeping cash on hand to tip the staff.

The main potential drawback to this type of plan is that you’ve paid for all meals in advance, so if you visit an off-site restaurant, you’re essentially paying twice for that meal. It’s also worth noting that there are a few things that do cost extra at most all-inclusive resorts, such as spa treatments and off-site sightseeing.

The wedding labyrinth

Now here is something you may never have seen before.

Mia and Peter were married at La Batterie villa in Soufriere on 16th January 2008. It was a really beautiful ceremony which also included a walk into the centre of the labyrinth before the ceremony and walk out from the centre of the Labrynth after the ceremony.

Mia and Peter and their guests walked the labyrinth – me too, I had so much fun!

Mia is the labyrinth expert – check out her site at www.labyrinth-alchemy.com and if you fancy including the labyrinth in your wedding ceremony call Mia.

The photos are taken with my phone not by our professional photographer you will be happy to know :)
