LOCATION - Our closest neighbor is
Martinique, 21 miles from our northern tip and St. Vincent
is 26 miles from our Southern tip. (Both are visible on clear
days), and Barbados 100 miles to the southwest. |

SIZE - The island is 27 miles long and 14 wide, a total of 238
sq. miles.
FLIGHTS - We have two airports here, Hewanorra and George Charles.
Hewanorra is the larger International airport and has daily
flights from the US and up to 12 flights a week from Europe,
George Charles deals mainly with regional traffic and smaller
planes linking us with our island neighbours
DRIVING - We drive on the Left-Hand Side of the road. Talk to us if

DRIVING LICENSE - Visitors must have
a Temporary Driving Permit, obtainable from the Immigration
Office at either George Charles or Hewanorra Airports, also
available from Gros Islet Police Station. Driving permits
are also issued by major car rental firms
CURRENCY - East Caribbean Dollar
(E.C.$). US$, is accepted as well in most shops and restaurants
CLIMATE - From November to February
the day time temperature is approximately 27 C, with a night
time temperature of approximately 21 C - 22 C. December and
January are the coolest months. From April to October the
day time temperature is approximately 23C - 32C. June to August
is the hottest period. |
