We chose a destination wedding because it fit our personalities and our relationship. We chose St. Lucia because of the attention we got from Awesome Caribbean Weddings! From the beginning to the very end, Michele was always right there. She reminded us when it was time to choose details like flowers and the cake. She gave us suggestions for our “rehearsal” dinner, our reception site, and our honeymoon. Of everything we did during our two week stay on St. Lucia, it always seemed that the places Michele recommended were the best! Our wedding day was no different! Justin and I arrived separately to the wedding location – a private beach, and were both awed at the perfection of our dreams that Michele and her team had created. There are not words to describe what it feels like to live your dream wedding, something we had dreamed about for months, and to have put so little stress into it! Everything was perfect: from the flowers, to the photographer, to the beach, to the reception. Michele and her staff listened to what we wanted, made suggestions that enhanced what we wanted, then put it all together and made it happen. We figured that they are the experts so we put our trust in them and we were not disappointed. There is not a single thing that we would have done differently for our wedding day. Mikael was wonderful throughout the wedding and afterwards. During the ceremony he was discreet as he took beautiful photos of the entire proceeding (in fact, I never noticed he was there!). After the ceremony he took many wonderful “action shots” and directed us in a few poses. We had great fun working with Mikael after the ceremony as he gave us the opportunity to show our love for one another and to just enjoy the moment. Is this really what we want?" Turns out, it wasn't. We still wanted the destination wedding. Somehow, all of the planning of a conventional ceremony led Lou and I to forget that our wedding day was about he and I and the love we shared. It wasn't about dresses, and flowers, and cakes, and food. We weren't completely sure who would be able to attend our destination wedding, if anyone. But, we agreed to go forward with plans for a destination wedding with the understanding that it may just be he and I standing there when the big day came, which was perfectly fine with us. I immediately began searching the Internet, and one of the first hits I came across was the website for Awesome Caribbean Weddings. I looked around the site, loved what I saw and instantly sent Kayt a message for more information. Within a few hours, she replied with a complete outline and quote for the beachside dream wedding Lou and I had longed for. I breathed an incredible sigh of relief as I read the outline. Everything -- and I mean everything -- would be handled by Kayt and her team. I wouldn't have to lift one finger other than to choose from a large variety of color options and designs of wedding amenities. That was it . . . choose it, and it would be done. No sitting down for hours on end with vendors, no haggling over pricing. Kayt clearly offered every option available for our wedding and the pricing that went with it. No hidden fees, no extra costs. Just straightforward information. We had a few changes along the way, especially with the number of guests we anticipated to join us in St. Lucia (many more folks showed up than we had thought!) When changes happened, Kayt handled them with the utmost responsibility, courtesy and professionalism. When the big day finally came, everything was perfect. The ceremony, the reception, the violinist, the flowers, the food, the cake. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. about the photos... We LOVED our photographs. Mikael is an artistic genius. When Lou and I returned from our wedding, our family and friends could not stop raving about the photographs and how beautiful they were. He knows how to photograph you in just the right light and the right pose. He knows when the sun is at the perfect position for a sunset photo. He knows how to capture a smile, a laugh, or a tender kiss. Those are the moments you want to remember from your wedding. When my partner and I decided to marry whilst on our Caribbean cruise, it was Rob who chose St Lucia and I started to explore how to do it. We are so glad we asked Kayt to handle our arrangements. She kept in regular contact during the three months of organising, making suggestions, not all of which were accepted, and delivering our fantastic day. Being a second marriage for both of us, the paperwork was extensive, yet Kayt handled it all so efficiently. We were able to deal with everything by email. We wanted simple to be our password and the venue though in a wonderful setting was unpretentious. We were quite insistant about the venue, which couldn’t be confirmed for a few weeks, and it was quite a drive from where our ship docked, meaning a tight schedule. Basically we asked and Kayt arranged it all for us – just as we asked. It all exceeded our expectations. It wasn’t quite plain sailing as we started our cruise, ten days before the date. We had intended to ask the ship’s galley to prepare a picnic for us and two witnesses, however, regulations about food imports did not allow this, so a plea to Kayt to find us a picnic provider was hastily despatched via email from the ship. Within a day, she came back with a suggested menu of Caribbean dishes from caterers at the venue and we agreed this. On the day, as we disembarked some 25 minutes early we wandered towards the terminal building in Castries, St. Lucia, and there to greet us was Kayt, who introduced us to our JP, dealing with getting the special licence. Several phone calls later, it emerged that the Attorney General’s solicitor required to see us in his office, and we were duly driven there. This had never happened before to any of Kayt’s clients, yet she remained calm and in control during the whole period and sorted out the missing document not returned to us. She left us calm and with ample time to get back on board and change into our wedding outfits. We were met on time by our taxi and transported with commentary to La Sikwi, our wedding venue. On arrival, our witnesses, fellow cruisers, were directed to the site whilst photos were taken. The ceremony commenced with our music played on a CD. Our vows had been approved beforehand and we read them to each other. Then came the bubbly, which we had brought with us and the mini cake my sister had decorated. More photos and a wander around admiring the gardens, looking at the plants and wildlife including humming birds. We were directed to our picnic table, which was brilliantly decorated and more bubbly on ice. Wow! what a wonderful experience and all down to Kayt’s brilliant arrangement. More of our music played as we ate and drank, chatting away at this most elegant picnic. In due course, it was time to leave, joining up with a tour from the cruise ship for afternoon tea on the outskirts of Castries. As I said before, we asked and Kayt arranged. It was a superb day, one we will never forget, thanks to Kayt and her team. Awesome Caribbean Weddings are worth every cent/penny of their fee. Our wedding turned out better than we ever imagined. Every detail was taken care of. I was so happy with all the choices of flowers, locations, and decorations. It was difficult to choose. Kayt and Michele were wonderful! Our families could not stop talking about how fantastic everything was. It was the most beautiful place we have ever been in our lives! I can't even begin to tell you how much we enjoyed our own wedding! Not only did it meet and exceed our expectations to have a destination wedding, it brought friends and family closer too. I could write a novel about our experience, but I’ll just give you the highlights… Chris and I had never been to the island of St. Lucia, let alone the Caribbean. We were more than nervous about having a wedding in an unknown location and planned by an unknown person. We planned for nearly a year, speaking to Awesome Caribbean Weddings over email regarding our decisions. When asked by friends and coworkers if we were stressed, the answer was always “Why? Someone else is planning it for us. We just have to show up and look pretty!” When we finally arrived on the island and stayed at the hotel recommended by our planner and now new friend - Kayt, we were ecstatic. The hotel was beautiful, it was right on the beach and the owner gave us a guide of the island and its wonderful culture. The people on the island are by far the nicest I have met, and I have been to a lot of places. As our friends and family began to arrive we had plenty of things for them to do, set up by Kayt and also our hotel staff. We were able to bond with each other before the wedding and it was an amazing experience to vacation with those who you share the most love with. The wedding day rolled around and we chose to be married on the beach on Pigeon Island, which was small but quite perfect for the ceremony. We had a steel drum band playing on the beach for our guests and we had a champagne toast at sunset to celebrate. Now it was time to party! We tried to make it the most fun reception we could, so we rented out Jacques, an excellent restaurant on the island. Dinner was served buffet style, which I have to say was complimented by ALL of our guests. A couple of them even went to dinner there the next night they enjoyed it so much. My bouquet captured all I wanted in my wedding colours, the scenery was magnificent and the photographs, well people are raving about the photos and keep asking who our photographer was. Having such a professional photographer as Mikael was the icing on the cake. This man is unique with his photographs. He captured everything and those who couldn't be there have said that they felt like they were there with us as his photos tell the story of our day. He captured the beauty of Fond Doux and made our wedding a fairy tale captured on photos. Multiple Google searches later, we found ourselves in the St. Lucia website and soon thereafter, the Awesome Caribbean Weddings website. Little did we know, we were about to embark on one of the most of the most wonderful experiences of our lives. This is where it began. Our initial e-mail was answered by Michele in less than The planning process itself was also very enjoyable. Trust us, Michele will lead you in the right direction and let you know when choices need to be made. Planning our wedding was simple because Michele provided options that we could tailor to meet our specific needs. We had 14 family members and friends traveling to St. Lucia with us and they were all staying at different resorts on the Island. No worries, Michele assisted us with travel and accommodations as well as wedding planning. Honestly, our biggest fear was forgetting sunscreen. The first class treatment continued as Michele met us at Jalousie Plantation the morning after we arrived. We ran over every little detail and became quick friends when we learned about a shared passion for rescuing stray dogs. Michele was also very honest about a pending tropical wave that was set to arrive on our wedding day! Again, no worries, she had a Plan B to accommodate any inclement weather. OUR WEDDING DAY WAS PERFECT! Buckets of rain couldn’t dampen the beauty of what Michele had put together. People came from Rendevous, Jalousie Plantation and Coconut Bay with no problems whatsoever. The ceremony was perfect, the location was amazing and the decorations were beautiful. Every detail had been taken care of. Our cupcake wedding cake was gorgeous but more importantly, delicious. Dinner was first class and was also delightful. The weather broke and we were blessed with a breathtaking sky of fire surrounding the magnificent Pitons. Without a doubt, the wedding of our dreams had now become a reality thanks to Michele. If we had it to do all over again, there isn’t one thing that we would change about our experience with Michele and Awesome Caribbean Weddings. Mikael is awesome. His photography really helped to tell the story of our special day. Our friends, family and co-workers have all been very complimentary of Mikael’s work. His talent is evidenced in the gallery portion of the ACW website so we don’t really need to comment on that. What we would like to say is how Mikael shipped our photos to us overnight at the last minute in time for us to use them at our local reception. James did an excellent job with the ceremony, reading everything we wrote word for word. I know I was pretty specific about a few things there! Did I say how beautiful the flowers were? Everyone loved the steel pan band, honestly we could have just stayed there and listened to them play for the rest of the night. All of the 200+ pictures Mikael the photographer took were so well done, we'll definitely have an impressive wedding photo album. The video was also great, we are extremely pleased with it. I mentioned the flowers didn't I? Our reception at The Great House was certainly memorable, for more reasons then one. You were able to accommodate just about every idea we threw at you, very impressive! Our wedding and entire stay in the beautiful island of St Lucia was certainly the most enjoyable thing we've ever done. The ACW team were a key part of our experience and felicity. All I can say is that I needn't have worried. St Lucia is more beautiful then we could ever have imagined and the wedding was amazing. Michele kept in contact over the year we planned the wedding giving us choices for every aspect of our wedding and ideas about everything even down to the accommodation that we might stay in. When we arrived in St Lucia the accommodation she had suggested was lovely and met all our requirements. We staying at the Oasis Marigot with Sam's parents staying in the Great House, my family in the Emerald Hill villa and me and Sam in the Caribbean blue suite. Michele came over a few days before the wedding and went through everything making sure we were entirely happy even suggesting restaurants we might visit in St Lucia during our visit. On the day of the wedding it all went so well, the location, La Sikwi (sugar mill), was so much more beautiful then the pictures (and they were good), the nice touches like fresh petals and candles down the aisle and stunning flowers made it so so lovely. The service was just what we wanted, it was very intimate and felt very special, and even accommodated a 4 year old best man! We then had the photographs and champagne in the stunning gardens of the sugar mill. The reception at Jacques was really lovely with a good view of Castries harbour and lovely food. Overall it was the most fantastic day ever and I would recommend Awesome and Michele to anyone wanting a wedding in St Lucia! This is the testimonial for Mikael's photography With a partner who absolutely hates having his photograph taken, I was very keen that the photos would not affect the day and Mikael made this possible, he was very friendly and put us at our ease, and the results were really good and had arrived at our home by the time we got back from our honeymoon. Our wedding in St. Lucia was the best day of our lives and we cannot express our As a non-traditional Anglo-American Jewish couple, our individual and family's desires and requests were complicated to say the least. Michelle and her team were incredibly obliging in helping us work out a format for our wedding that left everyone over the moon with happiness. The actual day started with a beautifully romantic small beach ceremony in the morning to satisfy the legal aspect of our wedding. Everything from the delightful registrar to the location to the weather was spectacular and it was the perfect start to a fantastic day.

While the day itself was fantastic we never though that it could be captured in photo so well. The set photos came out great and the group photo of all 80 guests will be a very treasured memory. As there was so much going on we were thrilled that you were able to capture so many images and special moments that we would have otherwise missed. When we got engaged we had talked to several friends who complained of not being able to eat lunch on the weekends because of having too many wedding related appointments and being too tired and stressed out on their wedding day and we knew that having a big wedding was not going to work for us. Then someone dropped an idea of a destination wedding and the more we looked around, the more we liked the idea (Ok, the idea of being barefoot on the beach really bought me). A Dream Come True! By Ben & Colleen Oldham Married on 2nd August, 2006 Dear Michele, You are truly amazing & we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping to The seven weeks leading up to our wedding was the most exciting time of our lives, and the more we chatted with Michele, the more relaxed we felt. People say it is stressful when organising your wedding, but we can honestly say, we enjoyed every minute of it. Knowing someone as professional and reliable as Michele is supporting you every step of the way is very comforting and reassuring. We arrived in St Lucia on Friday, and met with Michele on Saturday morning, feeling like we’d known her for years!! All the paperwork was sorted out quickly & efficiently, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Michele talked through what would happen on our wedding day, and even arranged for the hairdresser to help me fasten my dress!!! Our wedding day was beautiful! Every little detail was exactly as we had wished for. I even had my gorgeous little heart-shaped cake! We could sit and talk about it all day, but instead we think our photographs in the gallery sum up our truly ‘awesome’ day which we will both treasure forever. Treasured Memories! Mikael, thank you so much for the fantastic photographs – you really have captured our wedding day perfectly. We loved the CD so much we bought all 474 photographs, and are now finding it difficult to choose some to frame! We recently had a wedding party with family & friends to celebrate our marriage, and we made a slideshow with the photographs. Ron and I were married in the most perfect spot on St Lucia, and thanks to Kayt and all her team, the day went from strength to strength, even me arriving at the Pitons before Ron seemed to work out - he just wanted to show his brother-in-law how lovely the island was - Bless!!!. From the first day we arrived in St Lucia Kayt had everything organised to the last detail, including bringing the Justice of the Peace to our hotel, which was absolutely excellent - The Royal St Lucian in Rodney Bay - we can't wait to go back to celebrate our first anniversary. From the minute we decided to marry in St Lucia, we have had regular contact with Kayt and her team via the email and by telephone, and the service we received was second to none. She planned the wedding and included everything we requested and even came up with extra ideas as well. When we arrived at the wedding location the sun was shining and the beautiful Pitons were standing straight as a wonderful backdrop to a lovely service which was far more intimate than I had expected. I thought I would be a blubbering mess but it turned out that my sister-in-law just couln't hold back the tears, partly because of what we were there for but also the stunning views and the feeling of total peace and tranquility. We were a little wary at first but after reading some of the testimonials we were more confident. We continued to look through the possible venues and came across the wedding with a view location, which has the Piton Mountains in the background. The minute we saw this we both knew instantly that this was where we wanted to get married. We completed the request form and had a response from Kayt extremely quickly, and once we found out the venue was available on our chosen date, the planning began. All the way through Kayt was excellent, she always came back to us extremely quickly and made the planning process so stress free. Even when we kept changing our minds on things, nothing was too much of a problem. Kayt had arranged to meet us the day after we arrived in St Lucia to run through all the details of the wedding and it was great to finally meet Kayt in person. The day itself could not have been more perfect. It really was a dream come true. Everything was fantastic and set out perfectly. We could not believe how stunning the location was. Kayt and the Awesome Caribbean Weddings team were always there at the right time. They even managed to provide a rainbow for us just in front of the mountains. We decided upon having a photographer and videographer on the wedding day so that we could remember the day for years to come who were both superb. We cannot stop looking at the video and photos. We had a meal at the venue with our seven guests after the ceremony and everyone said how excellent the food was, we could not fault it in anyway shape or form. Hi Kayt, Now that we are settled back in Boston I wanted to let you know that Andrew and I (and all of our guests) had a WONDERFUL time at our wedding. I heard so many comments about how smooth everything went and how professional you and your staff are. Everything worked so well and I did not have to worry about a thing! The catamaran trip the day before the wedding was a great way to show my friends and family St. Lucia. You get to see all of the highlights (waterfall, Pitons, volcano) in one day so it was to perfect trip for my guests who was flying in for a long weekend. People felt like they got to see the island - not just the wedding. The ceremony on the cliff was perfect and the photographs turned out beautifully. It is so nice to have the photos on a CD so I can make as many prints as I want. I could not have asked for a better ceremony location (or a better day - thank you for the sunshine!) The reception at the Great House was amazing. The view from the patio is breathtaking and the food was delicious. Even my sister (the world's pickiest eater) could not stop raving. My guests loved their stay at the Village Inn and Spa. The staff is so friendly - they treated us like we were the only group there. The guys especially liked the fact they could look out their room window at any time to see who was sitting at the bar... Overall it was an AMAZING experience. Hi Michele We would like to thank you for our wedding in St Lucia that you organised, down to the finest detail; it was fantastic beyond even our wildest dreams. The hotel that you recommended for our stay was top class and made us feel relaxed and special from the start. You told us exactly what would happen and when, taking any pressure off and enabled us to totally enjoy the occasion and this will be the happiest lifetime memory for us. Our wedding day was even better than we could have imagined, from the transport, the setting, ceremony and the wedding breakfast. All the people involved in our day were great fun, well organised and very professional. From the start, the meeting with the Justice of the Peace went exactly to plan in a very efficient and friendly manner. The hairdressers were excellent, arrived on time and did a brilliant job – in fact the looks created lasted through into the early hours of the next morning partying on the decks of the cruise ship. The flowers were so fresh and vibrant and perfectly matched the theme we wanted to create. We all enjoyed the day so much which was helped by the fact that you had plenty of very chilled champagne for us to celebrate with and the cake was the best chocolate cake we have ever had (which looked as beautiful as it tasted). The wedding car driver enhanced the atmosphere of the occasion with his happy, friendly, professional, courteous manner, and he didn’t mind us rifling though his cd collection for Bob Marley music! The photographs of our wedding we view time and time again are of a quality we have never seen before and capture the moment perfectly. Although we arranged to have only 24 photographs, we ended up with 135 photographs, all of which we love. Every attention to detail was unbelievably perfect, from the steel band to the food and flowers; Awesome Weddings really do live up to their name. Our photos by Mikael are stunning, again out of this world and the video is just like a movie. You are really in the best hands. An Awesome Wedding is truly very special, really just like a fairy tale. That perfect day will be more than you imaged. You are dealing with a professional company with a lovely friendly touch in every e-mail and questions answered very quickly. Sometimes it was hard to believe that they were in St Lucia and we were in the UK . Michele was always there to help. Our bridesmaids still talk about their special day and when we will be going back so we sit down and watch our DVD and it's like we are back there again. Be warned, you will need lots of tissues when you show your video. Our friends have all commented on how romantic and truly personal and special the video is and how it really has captured the moment with memories to cherish. I really thought you would have to be a millionaire to have the service, attention to detail and all the extras we chose, but you don't! St Lucia is truly a beautiful island with warm and friendly people and you will feel so welcome. The memories of our wedding, meeting Michele and all the team of ACW will be with us forevermore. I have nothing but wonderful things to say We had a catholic wedding ceremony which was arranged all though Michele and had a beach reception back at our resort, which we had to deal with the resort's wedding planner for our reception since we wanted it on the beach. If we were to do it again or make recommendations, I would have used Michele to plan our reception. From the beginning Michele has been right on the ball with responding to all emails, questions and helpful information. We arrived in St Lucia on Monday February 20 and had agreed to meet Michele on the Tuesday, 830 am. She was earlier for our meeting (which if you have never been to St. Lucia, you will find that everyone is on ISLAND TIME). She took us to the Church to meet the priest and then to have a rehearsal. She had everything ready to go, the music for us to listen to, our program, a prepared itinerary of our wedding day. Everything went smoothly. After our rehearsal she took us to Pigeon Island, the spot that we chose to do the majority of our photographs. We walked around the Island to the different purposed spots for our pictures. Driving to and from the church she was even like a tour guide which was wonderful since we had never been to St Lucia before.
Once we finished up at the church, we proceeded to Pigeon island for pictures where Mikael took charge and took beautiful pictures. Everything went so perfectly, so smoothly and that is all thanks to Michele. Our wedding was the first for me but the second for my husband and he was adamant about not having to wear a “monkey suit” as he called it. He wanted to be relaxed and enjoy the moment. So a comfortable setting was demanded. Both of us wanted a small intimate ceremony that reflected our love for our each other and our two children. Michele, from ACW was truly amazing through the entire planning process and created the prefect wedding. Things that I didn’t even consider she planned for or brought to my attention. She captured everything Christian, my husband, and I wanted and more and even thought of our two kids, making sure to involve them in the ceremony. They felt very important and knew it was just as much about them as it was about us. Since the task of planning the wedding fell to me I knew that with a demanding job and life I would need help. Before that, I had considered using the wedding services offered through the resort where we were staying but had not received any response from them. In fact, I’m glad I did not go through the resort because I don’t like feeling like a number and choosing a wedding slot did not appeal to me. The entire process was very laid back and comfortable. Michele simply emailed me pictures of locations, venues, bouquets, etc. as it was time to make the decision. It was very stress free! And the end result was absolutely beautiful! I remember something my bridesmaid said that stuck with me: When we arrived at the beach we didn’t have our flowers yet (they were waiting for us at the beach). My bridesmaid said she figured that since she didn’t have the flowers she would just walk down the isle without them… and then as she stepped out of the car, BOOM, like magic, Kayt was right there with the flowers! 
We had never met Mikael prior to our wedding, but we are astonished by how beautiful his pictures turned out! Every moment was captured, true to life. As we viewed our photo CD on our honeymoon (yes, we got our photos within a WEEK of the wedding!) it brought tears to our eyes. The pictures are phenomenal. We received an array of photos ranging from full color, to black and white, to special effects copies, such as black and white with colored flowers! Many times when we look through our photos it is hard to believe that it is US in them!

The site itself was gorgeous. The flowers were beautiful, and the girls' little posies were just like the picture I sent, better actually. I love that the florist was able to use our ribbon too, nice touch! 
First of all it's just a stunning building, very romantic architecture and a beautiful sunset view. The limbo dancers and fire eaters were a nice addition, very entertaining and fun! People are still talking about the food, absolutely delicious. Kudos to chef Frederic again for the desert canapes! They just kept coming and coming......I have to admit, that was an awesome idea, credit to my husband. 
When Sam and I decided to get married we had a problem, Sam has a huge family and I have a very small one, so in order to avoid a family nightmare we decided to get married abroad, we immediately looked through all the books and decided on St Lucia as it seemed to be the most beautiful place or all we could find. We surfed the internet and found Awesome Caribbean weddings and we decided to use them to organise our wedding. It is worrying when planning such an important day if you have never visited the country you are getting married in and you cannot visit the locations or meet the planner, pictures are great but you can never be sure.

Michele was there every step of the way answering any question I had and providing information that I didn’t even have to ask for. Our wedding ceremony was perfect and my guests could not stop telling me how awesome everything was and that my wedding was the best wedding they’d ever been to! Michele could not have been more attentive to our needs and all of her staff was great too….the steel pan band “The Harmonites” even carried my mother-in-law in her wheelchair up the stairs to the ceremony site! Not to mention we got to play a song with them which was one of the many highlights of the evening for me. Michele made sure she covered every aspect of my ceremony outline….she even helped shield the wind from blowing out our unity candle. There just aren’t enough words to express how great and unforgettable that day was for us and all of our guests.

The day of the wedding started running late in the beginning (due to the salon at the resort), my driver was very friendly and even stopped at the store when I asked if he had any gum. The day was perfect, everything went smoothly and Michele was available to make sure that everything went good. A note from the wise if you are thinking of wearing a veil, you might want to reconsider as it is VERY windy in St Lucia.
